It has so many dropped calls it is ridiculous, and not only does the phone drop the call, it also turns itself off so that you have to turn it back on, wait for it to reload and then call the person back. I hate the fact that if you are on a call, and press the speaker phone button, you cannot close the phone and stay on the call.
AT&T would not insure the phone when i originally purchased it, not sure if they offer insurance on it now, but either way i cannot get insurance b/c i've had it for 8 months. if you close the phone it will hang up, even if speaker phone is active (which is a step down from the original razr, on it you could close the phone and still talk) this also reduces battery life.
I purchased my razr2 less than a year ago (about 8 months to be exact)and I LOVED it when I first purchased it. The battery life on this phone is a complete joke.
If I could go back to when I purchased this phone, I would not purchase it and get an original razr instead. Now that I have been using it for a while I have started to hate it.
I have also noticed that even though i have never exposed my phone to any kind of moisture or water, the dot on the back of the phone has started changing color as it would if it had been exposed to water damage.
Despite disconnecting it immediately, you get charged by AT&T. This one goes to Amazon.com and its new stifling way of business: If you cancel or reduce the plan within the first SIX months, you have to pay $250 for each phone. - The worst talk and standby time on all three phones particularly the Sony Ericsson, despite the fact all three of us use our cell phones only for very necessary or in emergency situations. - The voice command, as I understand it, can be activated only with additional monthly fee. We purchased from Amazon.com one Motorola RAZR2 V9 Phone and two Sony Ericsson Z750 Phones along with a mandatory 2-year contract AT&T FamilyTalk Nation 550 Rollover Minutes.
The competition gave that for free on the less equipped phones. - The quality of voice (connection) is a lot to be desired. WHY DID WE NOT CANCEL THE AT&T PLAN during the first ONE month of grace period. Perhaps I was too generous to include "$0.03 for all three phones" as a Pro for this, seemingly, deal; or more seemingly, ordeal. The AT&T advice was to either purchase a new plan (for additional high monthly fee) or have the option of internet connection totally disconnected (without reduction in monthly charge despite reduced service). - The ring tone of RAZR2 V9 when on speaker phone is laryngitic.
Pros: $0.03 for all three phones, Rollover minutes. - You cannot program the phone on speaker ahead of time. - The choices for the ring tones are severely anemic, unless you purchase more tones from AT&T. Cons: just to mention few. We end up to having to choose the latter. - The buttons on all three phones are arranged in such a way so that one can easily get connected to internet inadvertently.
- More dropped calls than the competition. You can activate it only after dialing or receiving a call - A SAFETY ISSUE while driving.
Excellent phone, only issue, battery doesn't seem to have talk time that Motorola says it does.
In short, for $18(AT&T contract extension)this is a very good deal. Battery life is very good, usually only have to charge it up once a week with moderate use. I've had this phone about 3 weeks now and am very happy with it. The sound and signal quality are both excellent, no dropped calls or unintelligible voices.
Is alittle bigger and weighs a little more. Good phone. Still like it. Replacement for older Razr that fell in water and finally after six months stopped working. It has taken a while to get usedto using because of new features and updating.
